Cutting off a Figger - The Culture of "Dani People of central Papua"

Today I just read Gag's and find out that in my beloved country, Indonesia, there is a really weird tradition of some people in Papua especially for Dani people. They cut off their hands for every single one who dies from their family.

I think the thing like this shouldn't be preserved as a culture. It brings more misery for the who is left by the one that dies. I agree for the cultures which shows our diversity as long as it doesn't hurt the one who has that culture. This culture in Papua of Dani people has been run for decades and generation to generation.

Usually, for Dani people in Papua, Women tends to show their grief  by cutting off their fingers for the one that dies. The man usually skin their epidermis of their ears to show their grief. Here are some pictures I got showing the tradition of Dani People in Papua, Indonesia.
